Let's Get to know some Fun Facts about Prof. Johnny "John Llyod" Buenrostro, Phd.

He's Everywhere!

We are going to feature one of the most admirable librarians in the Philippines, whose contributions have made a significant impact on Philippine librarianship!

This librarian, known as "JL" or "John Lloyd" (a nod to the famous Filipino actor John Lloyd Cruz), is renowned throughout the Library and Information Science program in the Philippines and beyond!

"The Father of Modern Librarianship in the Philippines"
Why? Is he too old to be the Modern Filipino Librarian?Well, in that case, librarianship in the Philippines seems to be progressing slowly. The fact is, Library and Information Science is a program often taken for granted by many. However, most people do not realize that this individual is a founder, co-founder, and key figure behind many library organizations that remain active in the Philippines to this day.

"Your Ideal guy"
but definitely not your sugar Daddy!

JL is already a family man and has managed to produce professionals. He must be very popular with the ladies because of his sense of humor. He dresses well, often wearing long sleeves and a matching necktie. You won't be able to leave the room without being amused by his natural wit. I bet he makes his wife even happier at home! Oops! Let's stop here!

  • You could use hundreds of adjectives to describe his outstanding achievements in Philippine librarianship.

It's no wonder why so many people connect with him every single time.

How do these traits describe him as a total matchmaker?

Well, you can ask JL! He might introduce you to one of his countless followers, most likely in the same field!

"JL also stands for John Lennon"

From "Hey Jude," don't forget to do your homework, and "Don't Let Me Down," make sure to pass all my exams.

And if you fail, "We Can Work It Out." He might tell you to forget "Yesterday" because, for him, "All You Need Is Love."

Who wouldn't commend his love for The Beatles!

JL is the total package, not just in the field of librarianship but also as an inspiration to aspiring librarians in the future.
