Library Without Walls and Virtual Librarians: An Efficient and Practical Approach to the Modern Learning Environment

This approach highlights the profound value and contributions of various types of libraries, learning resource centers, and records management departments within academic, school, government, special, and private organizations. Institutions such as schools, hospitals, corporations, museums, the military, and business industries benefit significantly from these resources.

Planning, promoting, and maintaining library services can be immense, demanding, and intimidating for information resource specialists and their staff. This is especially true given the realistic demands, expectations, and anticipations from top-level management, administrative offices, faculties, students, and other valued clients.

The burden on students, particularly under the current education curriculum, worsen by the lack of published textbooks, workbooks, and other printed educational resources. This scarcity puts the quality of reference and educational materials at risk.

The number of clients or users far exceeds the number of registered librarians and library support personnel in the country, leading to an increasing demand for information resource professionals over time.

Information resource specialists such as librarians, records managers, and document controllers are essential in reaching out to diverse audiences in the new media age through virtual library services, digital library solutions, and access to online resources and information databases.

Virtual Librarians must promote the advantages of digital library solutions, online collections, and virtual spaces to address the major challenges of providing accessible and economical school library services.

Virtual Libraries play a crucial role in raising awareness and emphasizing the importance of finding new visions and strategies for library services, from basic to extensive, to resolve the following concerns:

  1. Shortage of qualified library personnel.
  2. Limited reliable, accurate, and up-to-date resources.
  3. Poor library space requirements and unavailability of study rooms.
  4. Time-consuming searching, browsing, scanning, or selecting processes.
  5. Maintenance of library services, including automation and digitization.

This approach emphasized the transformative potential of virtual librarians and digital library solutions in enhancing the quality and accessibility of library services in the modern learning environment.
