This discrepancy can exist based on various factors such as socioeconomic status, geographical location, ethnicity, language proficiency, and educational background. Closing the literacy divide entails efforts to provide equitable access to education, promote literacy development, and address barriers that prevent individuals from acquiring essential reading, writing, and comprehension skills.
