As licensed Information Resource Professionals in the Philippines, What roles do we play in narrowing the literacy divide? 🧐 The "literacy divide" refers to the gap or disparity in literacy rates, skills, or access to educational resources and opportunities between different groups within a population. This discrepancy can exist based on various factors such as socioeconomic status, geographical location, ethnicity, language proficiency, and educational background. Closing the literacy divide entails efforts to provide equitable access to education, promote literacy development, and address barriers that prevent individuals from acquiring essential reading, writing, and comprehension skills.
